Custom Hatches / Serving Windows
A vending hatch, or concession window, is where you will greet and interact with your customers. Our custom fabricated hatches smoothly form to the curvature of the trailer. Vending hatch frames are welded into the existing trailer structure for strength and rigidity. Interior skins are removed to expose the trailer frame for welding in our supports. Using only quality materials ensures our trailers will last. Frames are completely made from aluminum tubing to keep it lightweight but rigid.
EDPM rubber gaskets around the hatch opening ensure a tight leakproof seal.
Configurations we have created in the past include one large hatch, 2 smaller hatches or hatches on both sides of the trailer. Rear-of-trailer full height hatches are also popular for loading of product.
Our custom fabricated hatches smoothly form to the factory curvature of the trailer.
Gas cylinder lifting struts make for easy opening. Automatic powered lifting struts are also available for no-touch opening and closing. Drip cap along the top maintains the 'Airstream look.' Our hatches can also include original Airstream windows which are placed at the same height as other trailer windows.
A foldout stainless or wood serving shelf is a nice addition for your customers. One possible add-on for your business would be recessed condiment holder cups.
Why our hatches last
A stainless steel piano hinge is installed on each opening we install which will not rust or corrode over time. These barrel-type hinges are used to evenly spread the weight of the door along the entire opening. Gas shocks make it almost effortless to open and close. A one piece Vintage style rain cap is installed above the hinge to divert water around the door. With the use of vintage style rain caps, it keeps the genuine look and feel of an Airstream trailer.
